I’m Charlie. I’m a strategist, founder, storyteller and adventurer.

When not building my own businesses, I help other ambitious businesses grow, in three main ways:

  • Storytelling. I help companies tell their stories better. This is usually for startups who need help defining their strategic narrative to engage with customers or investors.

  • Scaling Up. I help companies build rigour into their operations. As companies begin to scale, process and framework is needed to make that an efficient process, and I help companies manage that pain.

  • Ventures. I often work with large corporates who are looking to build out new products or business lines. I do the work to define and validate these new products and businesses.

Satellite Internet Consellation

My work with this client was over a range of strategic improvements to the organisation, from the implementation of a holistic new customer experience strategy, through to commercial organisation redesign and an overhaul of their commercial processes to enable a successful go-live.

Deep Tech Space Startup

During a 6 month contract, I helped this company refine the story of their business, internally and externally. Internally, this meant codifying their values and cultural practices so that employees felt more engaged, and externally this was redefining their strategic narrative, including go-to market, PR, online and fundraising strategy - which was key to supporting the multi-million seed round they closed.

SF-based Innovation Agency

Over a year’s engagement, I rebuilt and refocussed an accelerator program with clients like BP, IBM and RNM, driving program NPS. As well as this, I productised the corporate accelerator model, enabling rapid scale of opportunities into new markets, leading to new leads and new deals.

NY-based Innovation Agency

For this client, I was contracted to develop a comprehensive course on innovation for executive education. I then delivered this course, on behalf of an EMEA government client, to leading industry executives, with an extremely high approval rating.

FTSE100 Chemicals Company

My work with this client involved rapidly defining, validating and building a suite of in-house tools to improve their employee experience and drive efficiencies through the business. Due to the pandemic, this work was refocussed on delivering a new customer portal in record time, going from initial scoping to go-live with customers in 8 weeks.

  • Adventure Goat

    Adventure Goat was a B2C Adventure Travel Marketplace that I founded and ran for two years. We grew the team to 12 and had guides around the world, but couldn’t crack scalable customer acquisition.

  • Powering Space

    Powering Space is a community for space communicators I founded and run. The Powering Space community brings together actors from across the space outreach spectrum to better share skills, information and resources.

  • Space Pals

    Space Pals was a space livestream I co-ran for two seasons. I interviewed a diverse group of guests, from the developers of Eve Online to the Chief Scientist of NASA and NewSpace entrepreneurs, with our events reaching audiences of 5k+.

  • OpenIdeo London

    I was one of the founding Chapter Organisers of OpenIDEO London, a grassroots, volunteer effort that aims to bring together our collective enthusiasm and expertise in design to solve social and environmental challenges in our community.

  • Dealroom

    Dealroom is a Notion template that helps founders tell their story better through creating a more tactile, substantial narrative that allows for asynchronous engagement. It supplements the fundraising journey and makes for a stickier experience for investors.
